On October 24 I wrote this to Discover Financial Services, P.O. Box 29019, Phoenix, Arizona, 85038-9019:

You made the following inquiries into my Trnas Union credit file:
  1. April 11, 2000 - As Discover Fincl Services
  2. May 19, 2000 - As Novus Services, Inc
  3. January 23 - As Discover Card
  4. January 24 - As Novus Services, Inc
  5. April 4 - As Discover Financial Svcs
For what purpose did you make those inquiries?
Discover Financial Services, P.O. Box 30943, West Valley City, UT 84130-0943 mailed two letters dated November 6 to me. Neither contained an answer to my question, and neither was signed nor gave the autheor's name.

For which of the permissible purposes in the Fair Credit Reporting Act did you make those five inquiries? Do you contend that I applied for credit on two subsequent days in January, 2001? If so, provide proof that I did so. Do not reply without giving your name.
