FINANCIAL SERVICES
July 16,2002[Fisher's name and address]
Dear [Fisher]:
Thank you for your recent inquiry to the Executive Offices of Discover Financial Services. In order to ensure your concerns are addressed as efficiently as possible, your letter has been referred to my attention to investigate and respond.
I attempted to contact you at your home telephone number after reading your letter. I was unsuccessful. Please allow me to address your concerns.
The Discover Cardmember Agreement contains the terms and conditions of your Discover Card account. You agreed to those terms and conditions when you opened your Discover Card account in April, 1996, and every time you use your account. We are authorized by that Agreement to check your credit history in the course of extending credit and doing business with you. It states "We may from time to time review your credit, employment, and income records." I am enclosing a copy of that agreement with that section highlighted for your reference.
Please note, the reviews mentioned above are not done on a pre arranged schedule: therefore, we are unable to predict the amount of inquiries you can expect on your credit bureau in the next 12 to 24 months.
M [Fisher], I hope I have been responsive to your issues. Than you for taking the time to adress your concerns and for allowing me to be of service. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly at (302) 328-3300 ext. 2571, monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., EST.
Sincerely,
